Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has called on the Church to pray for his administration further reiterating his commitment to fulfill his campaign pledges.
Speaking in Njoro on Sunday after joining worshipers at the Revelation Church of the Holy Spirit, Mbugua exuded confidence in having a successful stint as the pioneer governor in Nakuru under the devolved system of administration saying his development record speaks for itself.
"Prayer is the best component any leader can embrace and to me, I am a believer of the power of prayer. Politics is full of criticism but with your prayers, we will make our county better and accommodate to all of us," he said.
The county boss called on all elected leaders to unite for one course and avoid inciting the residents against one another as we head into 2017; a period he said will see political temperatures rise across the country.
"Our county is blessed because hosting the whole country for a national prayer day was a blessing. Let's capitalise on this to nurture peace, reconciliation and positive coexistence," he advised.
Governor Mbugua is set to seek re-election in the coming general election but will face competition from Nacada boss John Mututho, NTSA chairperson Lee Kinyanjui and former Transition authority boss Kinuthia wa Mwangi who are also eyeing the county top seat.
