Speaking in Nakuru town on Tuesday after revelations of an outbreak of the deadly disease in parts of Nakuru and neighbouring Baringo county, Mbugua called on the relevant stakeholders to include street families in their campaign saying that they are part of the society.

According to the MP, the families have been forgotten.

"We all know how dangerous influenza is and according to statistics from the Ministry of Health, more than 20 children have already succumbed which is saddening," she said.

"Let's not sit back and watch our children on the streets suffer as if we don't care," Mbugua said.
