Nakuru County governor Kinuthia Mbugua has called on investors and other stakeholders to help the county improve the available sports facilities saying that it will help in unifying the residents.

Speaking in Naivasha during the a ground breaking ceremony at the Aberdare Hills Golf Resort on Saturday, Mbugua noted that the county was a hotbed of sports and if the available talent was utilised well, it will be among the best counties in sports in the region.

“My government is ready to work with anybody who is ready to invest in sports to ensure that our youth don’t remain idle,” he said.

The governor said that sports was the surest way of bringing together people from diverse walks of life in a manner that will fulfill all their desires.

“Other than doing what you love as a sports person, you meet and interact with people from other communities where you share your different cultures building a mutual and working environment,” he explained.

The golf course will sit on a 1,200 acre piece of land and is expected to have 18 holes and is expected to be ready for use in 5 year's time.

Area residents will benefit from a 5 star hotel, a club house and SPA for meeting and conferences, making it an ideal place for a family weekend out.

The governor was accompanied by area MP John Kiheri, Panda Development Company chairman Dr Pritam Panesar, Transition Authority chair Kinuthia Wa Mwangi, Senator Paul Njoroge among other senior government officials.
