Kathiani legislator Robert Mbui has condemned the unfortunate attack in Mitaboni market which occurred on Wednesday night leaving five nightguards dead and one critically injured.
The incident occurred when unknown people attacked the market breaking into several shops and stealing property of unknown value.
Three of the night guards died on the spot while two died while being rushed to Makueni county referral hospital.
The injured is receiving treatment in the same hospital. Speaking after he visited the small town where irritated residents by the incidence had blocked all roads entering the town, he said that it hurts a lot losing innocent lives in such attack.
He urged residents to remain calm as police in Kathiani manhunt the suspects.
Mbui also blamed Machakos county government over the ongoing strike by doctors citing that the two night guards who died later being rushed to Makueni county referral hospital could have been treated in Machakos level five hospital were it not for the strike.
