Ababu who quit the single largest party over claims of frustrations from top leadership, launched a newly rebranded Labour Party of Kenya, a party associated with former Butula MP Julie Ojiambo.

And on Friday, Nyamira County Assembly Majority Leader Laban Masira and a close ally of Ababu likened the move to ‘digging an own political grave‘, adding that the political career of the outspoken Budalangi MP was over.

“Ababu is my good friend and I don’t deny that. His political move was just but digging his own political grave and I am, really disappointed in him,” said Masira.

Masira added: “he was a role model to many young politicians like us and what he has done is a blow to his political career because the writing on the wall was so big. He miscalculated and should start planning to be in the political cold since no one will take him serious.”

Masira who is set to host former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during a youth conference slated for Tuesday in Nyamira said Ababu’s move won’t shake the Orange party.
