Kalimoni Ward MCA Joel Waichere has hit out at the Kiambu County Government bodies on what he terms as laxity and negligence in delivering their mandates to the public.
Waichere said that the county institutions are dragging the county residents behind in development thus the leaders are the ones questioned as they are the bosses in the government.
Speaking in his ward where there was a fire incident, the MCA said that the bodies should be held accountable for their laziness and punished for the same as they are being paid for the job.
The MCA cited the Thika firefighting department as having let the residents of his ward down after they arrived late where they were unable to put off the fire which left millions worth of property destroyed.
Waichere condemned the fire department for their laxity saying they have consumed the public funds in their training in Poland where they graduated yet they are not proving competence in their job.
“These people went to Poland with the public money and trained yet they are now sleeping on their jobs. They should show us the skills they learnt their or we sack them and bring competent personnel,” Waichere said.
The ward rep has now issued a warning to the non-performing departments in the county saying that they will soon be vetted and the lazy ones sent home indefinitely as others are employed to avoid the recurrence of some of the incidences.
