Gachuba ward MCA Gilbert Nchore on Monday said, police have failed in their protection roles as by the constitution.
Nchore said the decision by police officers to arrest 3 residents from his ward who participated in the protests against the construction of Bonyunyu dam last week was ill advised.
"If people have said they don't want a dam, it is useless to force them. Arresting them won't solve the issue," he said.
He asked the county commissioner Isaiah Nakoru to ensure officers violating human rights are transferred from the County.
“Nakoru should order the release of 3 protestors who were arrested last week during the protests if he wants peace," he added.
