South West Kisumu Ward rep Joseph Abiola says the suggestion is in bad faith and should be ignored.

Abiola said Odinga is a leader in the county and should be in the forefront to help in solving issues in the county.

“For any failure in the county, Odinga must bear the brunt and she cannot run away. I am asking her to come and find ways of solving any differences in the county and not calling for dissolution,” he said.

He said that calling for dissolution of the county is not the best solution and asked Odinga to come back from the US where she issued the statement calling for the dissolution and talk to the assembly.

Abiola said the deputy governor should channel grievances she has with the assembly instead of calling for dissolution of the assembly.

Addressing the press at the Kisumu County Assembly grounds, Abiola said issues of Kisumu have been blown out of proportion.

He said many counties in the country are facing a number of challenges but they find ways of solving them but for Kisumu it must be blown out.

Abiola spoke as he led the Kisumu Country Assembly netball team for the East Africa tournament to be held in Zanzibar. He said Kenya is sending three teams to the tournament including Kisumu, Bungoma and Nairobi counties.
