Njoro MCA Ezekiel Kariuki has appealed to well-wishers to help the disadvantaged and underprivileged in the society.
Kariuki made the appeal when he visited one of his constituents who has lived with diabetes for a long time.
“We will give Mburu fifty thousand so that he can take the wife to the clinic. I would also like to appeal to elected and other people here to come together so we can help this man assist his wife seek treatment,” said Kariuki.
He described the woman’s husband, James Mburu, as a good example of a man who loves and adores his family. The MCA praised Mburu for standing with his wife throughout.
“I am overwhelmed by Mburu’s love for his wife because not many would be with her in the situation she is in. She was bed ridden but now she can walk with support,” Kariuki added.
The family has undergone hard times seeing them sell almost everything they have trying to seek medication.
“I had a shop and now it is no more. My wife was also a cook at a local primary school but she can no longer work there. She was also carrying a baby but she miscarried as she was in a coma for quite some time,” Mburu said.
