Uasin Gishu County Assembly leader of majority Josephat Lowoi has applauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for signing into law County Allocation of Revenue Amendment Bill.
He said this will help county government to go on with their projects since most of them were dropped due to lack of funds.
"We are happy that the funds will soon be in our accounts. The county was almost running bankrupt, now our workers who had gone without pay can put a smile on their faces," he said in Eldoret town.
He, however, urged the Treasury to be disbursing the funds on time for devolution to flourish and also streamline the county operations which cannot be run without the funds.
The signing of the Bill now paves way for the National Treasury to disburse funds to County Governments.
