The Kivaa Member of County Assembly Alexander Kathinzi was arraigned in Kithimani Principal Magistrates court following accusations of property destruction.
The MCA was accused alongside 2 others in Kithimani court for destroying a sand lorry in Kangonde area, Masinga Constituency.
The three were arraigned before Kithimani Court resident Magistrate Gilbert Sikwe, MCA Kathinzi, Paul Kathinzi and Bernard Mweu were accused that on March 17, 2016 in Inyanza River they destroyed a lorry belonging to Francis Kimemia.
The three led by the MCA are said to have destroyed the lorry by breaking the windows and also beating up the driver. The value of property destroyed is said to be Sh400,000 and Sh17,000 respectively.
However the three did not plead guilty and were released on a cash bail of Sh20,000 each.
The case will be heard again on September 8, 2016.
The MCA has previously fought adamantly against sand harvesting in Masinga sub-county.
Sand harvesting is reportedly the main cause of school drop-outs and hence poor performance.
