The residents observed that there are rising cases of accidents, which they attributed to careless and reckless drivers on the roads.

Through their representative, Robert Okoth, the residents asked area MCA Paul Achayo to ensure that enough funds were allocated towards the putting up of bumps on the road.

“We cannot have motorists over speeding on this particular road and do nothing about it. There is need to put up numerous bumps on this road so that there could be a speed limit for motor vehicles and motorbikes,” said Okoth.

Speaking to the press at Carwash junction on Friday, the residents blamed driving schools for the reckless driving on the roads.

Dennis Wanjala, a resident in the area said that most motorists took a shorter time to complete their driving school classes hence the menace on the roads.

“Most driving schools are in a hurry to make money at the expense of sanity on our roads and that is why the area MCA should ensure that bumps are put up on the roads to reduce on the cases of accidents,” he added.
