The MCA says that residents are forced to travel to Kiambu town to seek crucial land services.

He observed that locals are experiencing a delay processing of their land matters as the journey to Kiambu is tiresome.

Speaking to journalists at Kikuyu town on Thursday, the MCA said that despite raising the matter with the county government nothing has been done.

He said that he has even written to the Kikuyu Lands Board but no response has been provided.

“We are appealing to Lands Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi to intervene and establish a lands registry here in Kikuyu,” he said.

The MCA observed cartels have taken advantage the situation to dupe unsuspecting locals with false claims of helping them retrieve and process their land issues.

Wainaina said that it will be necessary for then government to build land registries in every sub county to ease processing of land matters.

Meanwhile, the MCA has urged locals to be careful when transacting land matters.

He said that there are land cons duping unsuspecting locals of their land. Wainaina said that some of the people posing as land agents are fake.

“It is important for Kenyans not only here in Kikuyu but across the country to be careful when transacting land matters to avoid being duped,” he added.
