Wamwangi who has been overseeing various clean up campaigns in the ward said that residents should not wait till the county government does a clean-up adding that they should ensure that they live in a clean environment.

"I want us to develop a culture of not looking upon anybody even when we know that something is about to be done," said Wamwangi.

He added: "Matters cleanliness should always come first in our plans. In case of disease outbreak because of poor sanitation, we will always be the victims. In case of blocked drainages, it is our houses that will be flooded."

Wamwangi also appealed to residents to be responsible when dumping waste saying that most of the waste and especially the non-biodegradable polythene bags were the major cause of blockages.

"Careless dumping has got very serious repercussions if not tamed. So, what I request here is that we all be responsible in disposing waste so that we are not here every time to do the same thing," Wamwangi said.
