Muthesya MCA Peter Nzioki has urged the community to work together saying that it would help them push development to greater heights.
He was speaking at Muthesya area of Yatta Sub-County on Thursday when he met a section of village elders over developments in the area.
Nzioki said that the government was committed to uplifting the community through different funds that have been introduced. He added that he had introduced the disbursement of the Enterprise Kitty at the sub-location level where the community had the power to identify important projects.
He said this would help the community to develop the most vital projects and also help the neediest people in the community through the kitty.
Nzioki cited corruption as the cause of scarce resources and asked the community to help shun the corrupt members in the different bursary and other kitties committees to enhance proper use of the money.
The county legislator called upon the members of public to shun from taking bribes from politicians and other prominent people who are fond of inciting them to foil other people's meetings.
He condemned last week's incident where his meeting was foiled by drunk youths who pelted his followers with stones.
