Bahati youths in Nakuru County have been told to take part in sporting activities so as to indentify and grow their talents.

According to Bahati ward representative Stephen Kuria, young people have lots of talents that if nurtured will better their lives.

The MCA said there is need for the county government to set aside funds that will help promote talent.

He said that talent has helped many youths across the world prosper to greater heights.

“We need to set aside enough funds or a sports kitty that will help in promotion of sports talents,” said the MCA.

Kuria asked Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to make sports growth as one of the county’s top development agenda.

He said the county has a conducive environment that supports may sporting activities.

Kuria pledged to present the idea of promoting sports to officials both at the county and the national government.

Meanwhile, the MCA has urged youths in the ward to be active and seek development funds.

He said that despite the existence of development funds many youths are not willing to apply.

The MCA urged the county and the national government to sensitise the youths, women and persons with disability on availability an existence of government funds and projects.
