An aspiring MCA has been arraigned in court over incitement and assault following chaos at the Lamu Law Courts.

Yahya Ahmed Shee, a Jubilee aspiring MCA for Mkomani Ward in Lamu County appeared in court on Monday, June 12, 2017 to respond to the charges leveled against him.The aspirant, who is popularly known as Basode, was taken to court for allegedly instigating riots at the Lamu Law Courts on June 2, 2017 in an attempt to free three suspects from police custody.The politician has also been put on the spot for disrupting peace at the court alongside other persons he was arraigned with.The aspirant is also facing three other charges.He was summoned at the Lamu Criminal Investigations Department (CID) offices where he was questioned over the incident.Shee, however, denied all the charges he was facing, and was released on a Sh100, 000 bond pending his case.The case comes at a time when leaders from both opposition and Jubilee have been asking their supporters to conduct peaceful campaigns ahead of the August general elections.
