Kakamega County is now a 'no-go zone' for Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria.
Leaders from the area have given the MP a stern warning not to set foot in the area.
The reason for this decision is due to ‘‘the bad influence’’ the leader has. These were the words spoken by MCA Cleophas Malala. The MCA reiterated that this bad influence could easily be spread onto the area residents.
The tricky part about this is that Kuria is set to visit Mumias in a few days where he will be a guest speaker for a mentorship programme.
‘‘It has been brought to our attention that a certain meeting between the youth of Kakamega County and Moses Kuria is slated to take place on June 10 in Mumias. We are not interested in the talk being fronted by Kuria who has on several occasions in the mainstream media been cited as an agent of tribal profiling, ethnic cleansing, and youth radicalisation,” said Malala.
The ban by Kakamega leaders does not come as a shock to many as Kuria has faced various cases involving incitement. He has also been in the front line stating that he would radicalise youth so that they can disrupt the anti-IEBC demonstrations that have been happening every Monday in the country.
