On Sunday, Kuria led the construction of over 33 stalls behind the school wall, something that is opposed by the school administration as well as the area chief.

Area chief Charles Kitetu said that his efforts to stop the construction were futile after the MCA chased him away.

Speaking on Monday in Nakuru town, Kitetu said that it is illegal to put up structures along school fences.

"The law is very clear that if you want to put up a structure near a school it must be at least 30 meters from the school but these stalls are just behind the wall and its wrong "said Kitetu.

"I tried to stop this but goons chased me away ,"he said.

He called on the county government of Nakuru to intervene saying that the stalls might be used to sell drugs to the school children.

On his part, the MCA defended the construction saying that it was okayed by the county government and there was nothing wrong.

"I don't see anything wrong with the stalls because the county government gave us the go ahead,"said Kuria
