Wanango said that although the forms were ready people were not picking them and filling them to completion.

“We are appealing to needy students to apply for the bursaries. We call upon college students especially the ones in universities and tertiary institutions to apply. This would make their education a great success,” he added.

Wanango cited that there were increased cases of school dropouts yet the money was easily available.

“Many are unaware that there are such kitties. We would like colleges and institutions of higher learning to inform their students about the availability of such cash,” he added.

Wanango said that they were targeting high schools and would give the first priority to needy students, children’s whose parents were living with HIV and orphans in the area.

He added that they want to make basic education affordable for all.

Late last year, Naivasha Member of Parliament John Kihagi made a deal with the Higher Education Loans Board to give loans to university students from the area.
