Bogusero ward MCA in Kitutu Chache South constituency Richard Atang'a Makworo has blamed Kisii County governor James Ongwae over the poor state of roads in the ward.
The Kenya National Congress Party MCA said Ongwae has sidelined the region since 2013 when he was first elected as Kisii County Governor.
"The road from Kaminiambo to Nyagancha is bad and impassable. Despite that the locals of Bogusero voted for Ongwae overwhelmingly in 2013 and 2017 there is nothing Ongwae has done to appreciate the support of the electorate. The residents should have access to good roads so that they can ferry their farm products to the markets such as Mogumo to sell," he said.
Atang'a accused local politicians for spreading propaganda that he diverted funds meant to upgrade Kaminiambo-Nyagancha, Bokeabu - Nyagancha roads.
"I have never diverted funds meant for development. Political losers in the ward who lost fairly during the last year's polls should join me in pushing Ongwae to give us funds to upgrade feeder roads in the ward instead of concentrating in insulting me," the MCA stated.
He said the local community has been having difficult times in the ward moving on the muddy and slippery roads during this rain season when the region is experiencing heavy downpour.
