Mwala Ward MCA has called for dedication and professionalism from the newly elected chairman of the Ward Development Fund committee.
Speaking on Wednesday outside his office in Mwala after the elections, Justus Kimata said that the committee should be able to showcase some of the development projects it would have initiated in six months’ time.
"The committee has been voted in by our people and we expect to see development in six months as the residents have been paying taxes. We will ensure more funds are allocated to the wards in the 2016-2017 budget,” said Kimata.
Mwala Ward residents on Wednesday voted for Daniel Muli alias Kasanga as the new chairman of the Ward Development Fund Committee.
Speaking after the elections, Kasanga promised to serve the residents in a transparent manner.
However, some of the youth from the area were dissatisfied with the results and vowed to contest them in court citing bias in the voting exercise.
