He said that many men are wallowing in extreme poverty and there is no one to address their challenges, saying youth and women receive all the attention.

Speaking at a public rally at Sigona trading centre, Mutonya said denying men above 35 years a fund is a non-distributive economic growth.

“Poor men above the age of 35 are finding it difficult to cope with life due to poverty, they can hardly get a plate of food on the table. They have been forgotten in the distribution of the county’s funds," said Njenga.

Njenga reiterated that such funds would enable the men start enterprises at grass root levels and generate income to support them.

“There is need for the county government to think outside the box and set a side a fund to help them, these men have the ability to generate wealth if given a chance through the fund,” said Mutonya.

He argued that the cost of living and inflation does not only affect women and youth alone but also men.

He further said that men in the county hold the key to unlock poverty and catalysing county’s social and economic developments.
