Thika Township Ward MCA Kennedy Mwangi has called on parents of Kiandutu area to up bring their children in a healthy manner, as most of them are very weak and risk being hit by diseases.
Mwangi, who met children playing in the area and decide to give them some food, said that the children need proper feeding and upbringing, saying there are numerous diseases that can easily affect them.
He added that the children are future assets and leaders, thus need to be seen as important as older people, and thus must be prioritized in all the activities undertaken by the parents.
Mwangi said that plans are underway to open a children’s home in the area, so as to house the orphans who are increasing day by day as the parents are leaving them at a higher rate than before.
He said he has been seeking help from different places, and he will commence the construction once the sponsors and donors have agreed for the construction site.
He has lauded the parents of the Kiandutu schools for joining hands in the building of the cleaner lavatories in all the schools.
