Bibirioni Ward MCA, Anthony Macharia, has called for intensified security patrols to curb rising cases of crime.

The MCA claims that cases of crime have escalated in the past two months yet nothing is being done to the situation. 

Addressing journalist on Monday Macharia urged police officers in the area to boost security in the area.

“Cases of crime have escalated in the past two months, the police should move in and assure as our safety,” said Macharia.

He urged the government to deploy more officers to the areas in order to address the problem.

He said that residents are living in fear, hence affecting their daily lives.

The MCA concerns comes a barely a day after a body of middle aged woman was found dumped at Ngariga trading center on Sunday.

According to the police, the body of the 22 year old woman had cuts on the forehead. Police suspect that the woman was killed elsewhere and the body later dumped at the market.

An investigation officer who sought to remain anonymous said investigations have been launched into the killing. He asked the public to provide information that will aid in apprehending the suspected killers.
