Hospital Ward MCA Mwangi Wa Mwangi has expressed his concerns over what he termed poor life spent by most freedom fighters in Kiambu County saying that they have been neglected and no one remembers their existence.
Mwangi said that the Mau Mau Veterans deserve a fair treatment and a good life since they gave this country a great honour that we enjoy up to today.
He said that Kiambu County government had set a day to celebrate the freedom fighters earlier which was not commemorated at all as those involved in the planning of the day neglected as the governor was outside the country. He added that a day like that will always be set a side for them in the county.
He noted that there is need to give them a first priority and they should be respected by everyone despite their age owing to the fact that they are the reason Kenya is independent at the moment.
Speaking in his Ward on Monday, the MCA said that veterans in his Ward will be appreciated by everyone as plans are underway to set a day to celebrate them in the Ward.
He called on the Hospital Ward residents to respect the elders saying he values them in his everyday activities.
