Weiteithie Member of County Assembly Julius Macharia has described the Tuesday's incident where a quarry worker killed his wife and three children before setting himself ablaze in their home as disturbing.Macharia, also known as Taki, said there is a need for the government and other Kenyans of good faith to come up with measures that will curb cases of marriage-related disputes among young couples, which have been ending tragically. The MCA suggested the establishment of counseling centres where young couples can seek free help to know how to cope with marital challenges."Most of the families in this ward are made up of young couples. They belong to a generation that wants everything done fast, they need counseling to survive through the hurdles that come with the institution of marriage," Macharia said.Patrick Nderitu is suspected to have killed his wife, Rosemary Kanini, and their three children before setting their house ablaze and committing suicide at Malaba Village in Juja, Kiambu County.Police are still investigating the motive behind the bizarre incident."As for now, we cannot tell what made the man kill his wife, their children, and then himself. We have not recovered anything that could give us leads," Juja police commander Patricia Nasio told journalists on Tuesday.
