Lake View Member of County Assembly (MCA) Samuel Wanyoike has urged leaders in Naivasha sub county to exercise unity, work together and help better the living standards of the people.
The MCA notes that elected and nominated leaders have the responsibility to make sure that people’s welfare is improved.
He said that time is trickling first and that leaders should commit themselves to address the problems facing the people.
“Leaders should know that time is quickly running out yet we us leaders have not tackled pertinent issues facing the people,” he said.
The MCA said that some leaders have already started strategizing on the 2017 elections yet they are yet to fufill the promises they made to the people.
The ward representative added that it will be in order for leaders to work towards promoting development before starting politics.
Mr Wanyoike asked locals to demand development saying that the constitution has given them power to pressure their leaders for development.
The MCA at the same time asked the Nakuru county government tomove with haste and improve the peoples welfare.
He said their is need for the county to repair roads, supply clean water, provide quality healthcare, education and security.
Wanyoike said that he will work with the county and the national government to make sure that key issues facing residents are addressed.
