Police in Kisauni, Mombasa County have arrested a candidate vying for the Junda MCA seat after she was found in possession of bhang worth Sh100,000.

Kisauni police boss Christopher Rotich who confirmed the arrest said the suspect; Ms Dorothy Achieng was arrested following a tip-off from members of the public.According to Baraka FM, the name of the suspect has featured several times on the police wanted list.Rotich said Achieng was on Sunday arrested by police officers at her home in Kisauni, adding that police believe the suspect has been engaging in the drug business for a long period.The police boss said the suspect who is being detained at Nyali police station will be charged in court with the offence of being in possession of bhang once investigations are complete.“The suspect was arrested alone at her home in Kisauni. We believe that the suspect has been engaging in the drug business for a long period,” said Rotich, as quoted by the daily.
