The demonstrations will be held as an MCA, Fred Ouda (Central Gem) showed his support for the removal of the IEBC commissioners from office by chaining himself at the IEBC offices in Kisumu.

Kisumu Central Constituency ODM Chairman Seth Kanga appealed to Cord supporters in the lakeside city to turn-up for the demonstration.

“We will assemble at Kondele before marching to the IEBC offices, we must be in support of our leaders in this fight to eject IEBC Commissioners out of office,” he said.

Mr Kanga said Kenyans had lost confidence in the electoral body mandated to oversee the 2017 general election.

He said IEBC commissioners must be forced out of office and a new team put in place to conduct a free and fair election in 2017.

Addressing a press conference in Kisumu on Monday, Kanga said teargassing Cord co-Principals led by Raila Odinga has irked party supporters.

He said the Constitution has been violated since it allows peaceful demonstrations and wondered why the police peaceful dispersed demonstrators.

Kisumu Central ODM Treasurer Edward Ogolla said the government must accept that there is need for the overhaul of the IEBC.

“It is not only Cord who is calling upon the commissioners to vacate, even the church. Kenyans are tired of this Commission. Let them pack and go,” he said.

Mr Ogolla said the issue of the IEBC disbandment should not only be a Nairobi affair. He said all Kenyans should join in quest to push the commissioners out of office.
