Kalimoni Ward MCA Joel Waichere has called on Kiambu MCAs to work together with area chiefs to tame drugs and substance abuse.
Waichere adds that the collaboration is possible if petty politics are avoided since it slows down the development of the county.
The MCA said that the chiefs are the one in the grassroots and if they can work together, they will be able to fish out criminals and drug dens in Kiambu County which is alarming.
Waichere said that the campaign period is over and petty politics slow down increase waywardness and criminality in the area since the MCAs have left the chiefs to work alone polarising the security.
“We have involved ourselves in politics instead of working hand in hand with the local chiefs to tame insecurity and drug abuse. Those are a threat not only in Kiambu County but the entire nation,” said Waichere.
The MCA had earlier introduced feeding program in his ward to promote education where pupils will now stay in school from 8am to 5pm to enhance their performance. He also supplied water pipes at Juja farm to ensure residents get the basic need.
Waichere who spoke from his office on Wednesday challenged the residents to shun cheap politics which corrupts their minds.
