Naivasha East MCA Samuel Waithuki has complained over the rise of cattle theft in the ward.

Speaking to the presson Wednesday, the MCA asked the sub county security personnel to deal with cattle theft. He said that the government has the machinery to curb cattle rustling which is rising in the sub county.

“We have experienced several cases of cattle theft in the past two months and want the government to curb the thefts” he said.

Waithuki further asked the security personnel to conduct more patrols ad deal with the thieves who he said strike at midnight.

He said that many families in the area depend on their cattle for daily survival adding that they are now at risk of hunger.

The MCA also asked the county government to put place measures that will streamline security. He indicated that security of residents should be given first priority before anything else.

On the same note, the MCA urged residents to share information they might have on the whereabouts of criminals.

He said that sharing the information will help the police curb crime in the sub county.
