A Member of County Assembly (MCA) in Kisumu has strongly condemned what he terms as unwarranted crackdown on National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders, days after opposition Chief Raila Odinga was sworn in as the people’s president.Kajulu ward MCA Roy Ochieng Samo criticised the government, saying the Jubilee administration should stop harassing NASA leaders.Speaking on Friday at the Mamboleo Show Ground during a function to mark the World Wetlands Day, the MCA said the arrested NASA leaders have not committed any crime since they are not the ones who were sworn in.“Miguna Miguna and TJ Kajwang were not sworn in. The person who was sworn in is Raila Odinga. If there’s anything then he is the one who should be arrested,” he said. The MCA, however, said Odinga’s supporters would take to the streets to demand his immediate release if he was to be arrested.Ruaraka Member of Parliament TJ Kajwang was arrested on Wednesday and charged on Thursday for among others, administering an illegal oath.Miguna Miguna, a self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) general was also arrested on Friday morning at his Runda home. The two took part in Odinga’s swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park on Tuesday.
