Speaking in his office on April 14 in Ikalaasa, Nguzi said that many people have become physically challenged and others have lost their lives over snake bites.

"I won't keep on watching the population in my ward decrease at this high speed due to snake bites. I have for the last one year presented complaints on the same to Kenya Wildlife Service Machakos county for action to be taken but nothing has ever been done," said Nguzi.

He said that KWS should intervene and save residents from the problem.

Nguzi also said that those people who have lost their loved ones and rendered physically challenged from snake bites should be compensated.

This comes barely one day after a juvenile lost his life while undergoing treatment in Machakos level five hospital.
