Member of the County Assembly for London Ward, Nakuru Francis Njoroge has decried the rising rate of insecurity in the area and wants the local police boss David Kioko to address the issue. In an address to the residents during a meet-the-people tour of the area he said he was perturbed by reports in the local media concerning criminal incidences in the area. “I am very concerned with the reports I receive and incidences I personally experience. We need to do something. Maybe we know the people doing these and hide them or we have failed to put in place correct measures,’’ he said. The MCA however blasted security agents over lapse in security and petitioned the Nakuru police boss to address the issue. He noted at least six people have lost their lives while property worth millions of shillings lost in the area in the last two month yet police had not arrested any suspects in connection with the incidences. Last week, a marauding gang of armed robbers broke into homes and business premises and terrorized residents in a well staged robbery that lasted five hours. Properties worth thousands of shillings were lost after the robbers drove off on motorbikes and vans. At least four people including two night guards were shot dead in the incident. A month earlier, two brothers were carjacked along Kabarak road and shot dead before the robbers drove off in their car. Njoroge also suggested that the area residents form a security intelligence group to help police detect crime in addition to demanding a police post put up in the area.
