Kung'u spoke in Njoro yesterday saying that the county government had already set aside Sh60 million for buying a new cemetery plot.

"The county government is set to buy a new cemetery plot as the one we have has already been declared full. The problem has been that the county government has not been able to find a suitable land for the purpose,” said Kung’u.

He added that the three plots that had been identified earlier had not been suitable. Kung’u asked that anyone with land to sell should come forward and talk to the relevant county department.

This comes in after grave diggers at the cemetery digging new graves yesterday hit upon body parts of people buried previously.

The diggers say that they now had to resort to digging shallower graves so as not to 'disturb' the buried bodies.

Njoro Youth Leader Paul Mburu who was at the scene asked the county government to provide for a new cemetery plot immediately.

“This cemetery was declared full a number of years ago but the government is just lazing around. We need action,” Kung’u said.
