Nyamira Assembly Majority Leader Laban Masira has come into the defense of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Party Leader’s remarks following criticism from a section of CORD members.
On Sunday, a charged Joho insisted that it was only Raila Odinga who was best suited to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 polls, remarks that didn’t go well with Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo.
And on Tuesday, Masira said Joho’s remarks were democratic insisting that he had not made it ‘so obvious’.
“I don’t see anything wrong with Joho’s statement. He has a right like any Kenyan to declare his support to whoever he thinks is ideal,” he said.
“That was his thinking and should not be treated as something obvious. We still have some time to decide best suited candidate,” he added.
Kilonzo accused Joho of propelling uncertainty within the coalition arguing that the statement could destabilize the opposition team.
