A Kisumu MCA has come to the defence of Governor Jack Ranguma over allegations of underperformance. South West Kisumu ward representative Joseph Abiola said Ranguma should be supported to deliver to the people. Abiola said constant criticism will not help the county but will stagnate development in the area. “Let all those claiming Ranguma is not working to come forward and offer those ideas to the county to enable the governor to perform well,” he said. He said Ranguma is the county boss and must be respected by all leaders in the county. Speaking in Kisumu town, Abiola said as elected leaders they will ensure that the leadership of Ranguma is defended by the people. He warned that people from other counties should give support to the governor instead of pulling him down with some cheap politics. “People from outside this county have been very vocal and they are the people who constantly say that Ranguma has failed, they have left their counties peacefully to come and interfere with Kisumu County,” he said. Abiola noted that Kisumu people need development and not politics, adding that time for politics is coming in 2017. He said there is a lot of development taking place at the ward level and asked those claiming that Ranguma is doing little to offer him ideas.
