The poor status of the road had literally rendered it impassable and at times precipitating protests from the locals.

As part of his legacy, Nyamira governor John Nyagarama has embarked on furnshing hundreds of roads in the region.

"It has taken a while but I am happy that we have kicked off the process. It will also see our transportation easy," Omayio said.

"The governor had promised to do a number of roads and I am happy that Magwagwa has been considered," he added.
