Nyamira Assembly Deputy Leader of Majority James Mating’a has defended his development track record at the same time pleading with the electorate to give him another term in order to complete a number of projects.
Matinga, who doubles as Kemera MCA was responding to question during a weekly grilling of aspirants via a Whatsapp group on Tuesday.
He said under his leadership, he has managed to push for construction of roads, ECDE classes, health centers and improving a number of springs across the ward.
“This is a new system of government and as your first MCA, I have done my best especially on the improvement of roads, health centers, water and pushing for construction of ECDE classes,” he said.
“I deserve a second term to complete what I started. I have sponsored a number of bills among them the one that would see employment of village administrators in our county soon,” he added.
Matinga also denied allegations that he was taking bribes to have people employed at the Nyamira County government at the expense of poorly qualified people.
“As MCAs, we are not in charge of employment but we push for regional, gender and clan balancing on employment. I have never taken bribes to have people employed and if anyone has evidence, I challenge them to table it,” he said.
