The County government of Kisumu has been asked to explain the absence of Governor Jack Ranguma and his deputy Ruth Odinga.
Nominated Kisumu MCA Bob Ndolo has asked the county secretary, Humprey Nakitare to explain how the two county chiefs are absent from office at the same time.
The MCA questioned who was in charge of the county when both the governor and his deputy are out of the country.
Speaking on Sunday during a church service at Kibuye Catholic church in Kisumu, Ndolo accused the two leaders of not taking their leadership roles seriously.
He said that neither the county assembly, nor the speaker is aware of the governor and his deputy’s business out of the country.
“When both Ranguma and Odinga are out of the country, we are left to wonder who is in charge of the county as the assembly was not notified of any plans by the two leaders to leave the country,” said Ndolo.
“I want the county secretary, Nakitare to explain to Kisumu residents how the country is being governed currently,” added Ndolo.
Ndolo threatened to storm into the governor’s office to demand questions on the residents’ pleas.
The two county bosses are currently said to be abroad.
