Ngewa Ward bodaboda operators have a reason to smile, after area MCA Karungo wa Thang’wa donated 10 motorbikes to residents in his ward.
The donation is meant to boost their unity, as well as empowering the young hardworking fathers who are jobless and have only motorbike as their tool of trade.
Speaking in his ward on Wednesday morning, the legislator said that he is only fulfilling the manifesto set during the campaign period in the last general election.
“Am just fulfilling the manifesto I set during my campaign, and I assure you by the end of the year, you will see the good fruit of my administration,” said the MCA
Karungo expressed his concern over unemployment in the county of Kiambu, which has resulted to crime and drug abuse, where youths are indulging in heinous behavior just to put food on their table.
He said that the donation of motorbike will help create more employment for the youths, thus reduce idleness and crime.
The lawmaker revealed that plans are underway to establish a bodaboda shades in his ward, which he believes will be ready by the end of April.
According to the MCA, the cause of insecurity in the region is as result of unemployment and has urged other leaders to join hand in supporting the unemployed youths in their wards to reduce crime.
“Insecurity is as a result of unemployment, and if only my counterparts can join hands in helping the youth then vision 2030 is achievable,” said Karungo
He however appealed to any well wisher in the county to come out handy in supporting youths to kick unemployment out of the county in line with vision 2030.
