According to the leader of Minority at the Assembly Abdi Guyo, MCAs have collected 65 signatures against the Speaker and 60 against which the Governor will be impeached.

"I am the one moving the Motion against the Speaker, the other one against the Governor has been moved by a Cord member," Guyo was quoted by the Star as saying.

Guyo alleged that his drafting of the Motion to impeach Mr Magelo is due to his incompetence and lack of leadership skills.

On his part, Viwandani MCA  Sam Nyangw'ara alleged that Dr Kidero has violated the Constitution and that he misappropriates the county funds.

"Since we joined the Assembly in 2013, we have been passing budgets but we do not see the projects reflecting the money we pass by the county government like road construction," he said.

For the Motion on impeachment to sail through, at least  two-thirds of the members should support it.

This means that out of Nairobi's 127 MCAs, 87 must support the Motion.
