There was commotion in Makueni County Assembly as an MCA was being ejected from the chambers for allegedly dressing inappropriately on Tuesday.
The Kiima Kiu Kalanzoni Ward's Kilonzi Kyengo attended the proceedings dressed in a leather jacket contrary to the house's standing orders.
Kilonzo was kicked out by the assembly's speaker Douglas Mbilu after one of the members complained of his dressing code.
This caused a lot of commotion in the house and suspension of a motion tabled by the deputy speaker Harrison Mutie on enforcement and banning of tree logging and sand harvesting.
However, some female MCAs claimed it was not the first time their male counterparts attended a house sitting indecently dressed thereby making the house waste time instead of engaging in fruitful business.
The speaker ordered Kilonzo out stating he should go dress properly if he wanted to carry on with the proceedings.
“In view of your dressing, the member for Kiima Kiu Kalanzoni you are improperly dressed before this house and I therefore direct you to go and dress properly. It is only then you can resume," Mbilu said.
