The newly elected Nyacheki MCA Naphtali Onkoba has dedicated his victory to his ‘political father’ Raila Odinga and predicted his victory in 2017 presidential elections.
Mr Onkoba beat fourteen (14), other candidates, to clinch the seat after garnering 2216 votes with his closest rival Maxwell Magoma emerging second with 1173 votes.
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd on Wednesday evening, Onkoba said he was motivated by Raila’s resilience in national politics and equated his victory to Raila’s 2017 elections.
“I have been inspired by Agwambo (Raila Odinga) for this entire long that I have been in politics and I would like to dedicate this victory for being such a good political father to me. This victory is a manifestation that his time will come,” he said.
“He has contested and even won the presidency only to be robbed. The journey we have started today will be reflected in his 2017 victory which we are sure of,” he added.
Mr Odinga led a powerful ODM team in the ward on Monday where he predicted a huge victory for the MCA elect.
