“If anything happens to me today, Ranguma should be held responsible” read the post that attracted sharp reactions with many condemning him for the remark while others urged him not to relent on his oversight role on the executive.

The governor has now drawn the attention of the police to the post and is demanding action be taken against the MCA for Milimani Market Ward.

“Anayo should be summoned to record a statement over the malicious statement and why he is dragging my name into issues on facebook which was in bad taste,” said Ranguma in a statement.

He termed the remarks by Mr Anayo slanderous and which cannot go unpunished.

Anayo, who has been a fierce critic of Mr Ranguma questioning corruption and performance of the governor since he was elected, has been receiving a text message from an anonymous person telling him to leave the governor alone.

Ranguma said the MCA should stop playing politics with his name and instead concentrate on doing what is right to change the lives of his constituents.

Anayo last week announced he would quit politics in 2017 to do business.
