Nominated Member of County Assembly Esther Nyamwamu has faulted digital parenting for lack of good morals among young people in the various societies and more especially in Kisii County.
Speaking to our reporter, Nyamwamu said that it is parents who have become so easy on the children, saying that they have a bigger role to play in both the boys and girls upbringing.
“We have become easy on our children and we let them do what they please and this has cost us a lot,” she said.
She added that the most affected though are the girl children, who face various challenges like early pregnancies and becoming mothers at very young ages.
Nyamwamu called on the parents to come together to ensure that their children can take care of themselves, as it is their responsibility.
“As a parent, you should know the character of your children so that you can be able to advise them on how to go about living this life,” she said.
Nyamwamu also called on the youth from Kisii County to have respect for themselves, adding that we are living in a risk taking world.
She called on families in the county to unite and help this young generation not to get wasted completely.
