The legislator said that he is shocked that Wamatangi has went to an extent of convening an public forum with the contestants as if he is the voters’ spokesman, yet he has his own issues to take care of in the county.

The MCA further hit on the lawmaker, saying that the Hospital ward residents have never seen the senator since after the 2013 general election, yet he is busy campaigning in Kabete instead of working to meet the people that voted him in office.

Mwangi added that the area leaders are aware of the by-election, and no one has campaigned for any contestant as they want the people of Kabete to choose a leader of their choice, not being given a leader as the Senator intends to do.

This comes a few days after the Kikuyu legislator Kimani wa Ichungw’a expressed his suspicions in the number of candidates that have turned out for the JAP ticket nominations, which are set for Saturday.

Ichungw’a said that the seat has attracted a lot of people and questions arise as to why they did not contest in the last general election, where Muchai won without huge competition.

The MCA has called on the resident not to accept any move by the senator to give them a leader, and instead choose a legible leader for them.

He was speaking from his office on Thursday when he met the bursary vetting committee.
