Three corporates have pledged to sponsor the ongoing Kiambu Championship Cup in Sigona ward to validate the dream of young players in Kikuyu constituency.
Speaking on Monday when he attended the championship cup at Kari grounds, Sigona ward MCA Mutonya Njenga, said that he appreciates Blue Nile Company, Universal Corporate Limited and American Biscuits for joining hands in ensuring the dream of young players is not in vain.
He mentioned that the Blue Nile have greatly helped in the establishment of the modern FIFA goal posts in the ward while Universal Corporate has helped in buying 10 soccer balls and American Biscuits has vowed to provide medical services to players in the tournament.
The MCA has lauded the three corporates which he says have greatly boosted the morale of youths in the ward thus taming heinous activity in the area.
“I appreciate Blue Nile Company managing director Botu Rao for attending the event and for pledging sponsorship to sponsor the football tournament on behalf of the company,” said Njenga.
He added: “Universal Corporate Limited have sponsored us with ten balls to enhance the tournament while American Biscuits promised to provide health services to players and this is a big boost to our boys thanks to the representatives of the companies.”
Njenga called on youths to shun criminal activities and illicit brew dens to ensure the ward moves forward in terms of development.
He has hailed Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo, through his sports CeC Michael Waikenda, for making the dream come true in ensuring sports for the youths is well catered for in the county budget.
