Migosi MCA Paul Achayo has challenged Landlords from Kisumu County to improve tenants’ safety by making sure their apartments are fenced properly using wire-mesh or perimeter wall all round.

MCA Achayo was speaking on Tuesday in his Migosi office after a reported attempt of robbery in some apartments around Aliwa World Vision Estate.

The MCA noted that the resident’s safety is a challenged and asked Landlords to mend their apartment’s walls to discourage suspected thieves from accessing residential buildings.

He asked Police patrol team to tighten security in the area, especially around Aliwa World Vision Estates.

The MCA also challenged tenants not to allow their houses to be like grazing fields without any fence, asking the house owners to properly mend the rental house fences to bar thieves fro easily accessing their houses.

“I am asking for a proper safety residential places for the area residents, enhanced police patrol at night and landlords to mend fences around their apartments as a way of improving security of the people,” said Achayo.

Migosi World Vision residents representative Caleb Obilo also noted that security in the region is at stake after a number of theft incidents were reported within the last few months.

Obilo also challenged Landlords to see that their tenant’s are safe.

“The safety of this area residents is at stake, I am therefore asking an improved tightened security by police and also Landlords to fence their apartments,” pleaded Obilo.
